Profile of Hon’ble Shri. Justice R.G. Avachat

Born on 15th March, 1964. Completed education up to graduation i.e. B.Com. at Shirur (Ghodnadi), District Pune.

Did LL.B.(First Class throughout) from I.L.S. Law College, Pune in 1987. Enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa in June, 1987. Practised at District Court, Pune and the Court of Civil Judge, Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate, First Class at Ghodnadi.

Joined judiciary as Civil Judge, Junior Division and Judicial Magistrate, First Class in May, 1992. Promoted as Ad-hoc Additional District Judge in October, 2003 and then as District Judge in January, 2008.

Served as Principal District Judge, Kolhapur from May, 2015 to July, 2017 and thereafter, served as Registrar (Vigilance), High Court of Judicature at Bombay.

Elevated as Judge of Bombay High Court on 11th October, 2018.
